Music Education Philosophy:

I believe in a well-rounded education. Music just isn't an elective, it is also many other subjects! Musicians use other subject skills when participating in music such as math, reading, science, language, and history. Having students participate in music helps in their regular core classes (there's several studies that prove this!). Studies also show that music has a positive effect on a person's mental, physical, and emotional well-being.

I personally believe that everyone has musical talent. My goal is to give students the safe environment to express themselves through music, discover their own musical abilities in the music classroom and beyond. I strive to provide an educational program that is designed to teach music to students in a way that will help them develop creativity, positive self-esteem, independence, an appreciation of diverse cultural heritages, a sense of responsibility, and valuable life skills.
